Gabe Marabella scored on a 12-yard pass from McDermott with 5:15 remaining to tie the score 22-22 and send the game into overtime.

Mike Cangelosi connected with Nisan Trotter on a 66-yard pass and then scored himself on an 8-yard run to give Bucknell a 14-0 first-quarter lead. Bryan Arguello got Penn on the board with a 27-yard field goal.

With 7:22 remaining, Bucknell quarterback Daris Wilson raced 20 yards into the end zone with 7:22 remaining, but a holding penalty nullified the score. Wilson completed 9 of 12 passes with one interception for 116 yards but was held to just 27 yards rushing on 30 carries.
