Alcorn State 26, Prairie View 15

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) -- Donald Carrie threw for 240 yards and
a touchdown as Alcorn State took a big lead and held on for a 26-15
win over Prairie View A&M on Saturday night.

Carrie was 19-of-33 and Charles Spiller had four catches for 82
yards and a score for Alcorn State (3-2, 1-1 Southwestern
Athletic).

Alcorn jumped to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter with a 20-yard
scoring run by Robert Lester and 6-yard TD catch by Spiller, then
built a 26-3 lead before Prairie View (2-3, 1-3) started to come
back.

Michael Hill threw a 3-yard TD pass to Kameco Andrews and Arnell
Fontenot scored on a 1-yard run with 2:45 remaining in the game to
pull within 26-15.

Fontenot ran for 109 yards on 24 carries. Hill was just 3-of-11
passing, with an interception.

Chris Gibson was 5-of-9 and threw an interception for Alcorn
State.
