GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Ingle Martin threw two touchdowns and
was 17-for-28 for 213 yards as Furman beat The Citadel 33-14 on
The Paladins (5-2, 2-1 Southern Conference) gained 551 yards of
offense, while holding the Bulldogs (1-4, 0-2) to 230 yards.
Most of that came in the second half. In the first half, The
Citadel had no first downs, punted the ball seven times and gained
just 42 yards to trail 27-0.
Isaac West caught five passes for 116 yards and a touchdown,
while Brian Bratton scored a touchdown on a 4-yard pass and a
59-yard run for Furman.
The Paladins also held Bulldog running back Nehemiah Broughton
to just 36 yards on 12 carries. Broughton ran for 159 yards in The
Citadel's 10-9 upset of Furman last season.
