PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Ken Triboletti rushed for 219 yards and two
touchdowns on just 16 carries and also caught a touchdown pass to
lead La Salle to a 56-22 win over Catholic on Saturday.
Triboletti opened the scoring with a 54-yard run and scored on a
70-yard run in the third quarter. Later in the quarter, he caught a
25-yard touchdown pass from freshman Michael Jump, who completed 16
of 28 passes for 232 yards and also threw touchdown passes to John
Zabel and Vernard Abrams.
La Salle (3-4) also scored a safety after blocking a punt out of
the end zone and capped the scoring with a 98-yard interception
return by Billy Rhea with 5:50 to go in the game.
Catholic (0-5) was led by Anthony Durham, who completed 29 for
47 passes for 242 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score.
Greg Brown added a 26-yard touchdown run for the Cardinals.
Kevin Sullivan and Jason Stevenson also scored on touchdown runs
for the Explorers and Steve Frey kicked a 25-yard field goal for
The Explorers amassed the highest point total in school history
and won for the first time at home since 2002.
