Colgate 41, Holy Cross 7

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) -- Jamaal Branch rushed for 208 yards and four touchdowns to lead Colgate to a 41-7 win over Holy Cross on Saturday.

Colgate forced eight turnovers by Holy Cross, while out-gaining the Crusaders 499 to 278 in total offense.

The Raiders (5-2) opened a 21-0 lead in the first quarter on TD runs by Branch of 14, 3 and 21 yards.

Chris Brown scored on a 22-yard run and Lane Schwarzberg added the extra point for a 28-0 lead in the second quarter. Brown connected with DeWayne Long on a 53-yard TD pass for a 34-0 Colgate lead at halftime.

Colgate closed on its scoring in the fourth quarter on Branch's two-yard run. Holy Cross (1-6) scored its only TD on a three-yard run by Brian McSharry with 8:36 remaining.

Brown completed 10 of 22 passes for 160 yards. John O'Neil finished with 12 of 24 passes for 114 yards.
