Drake 37, Valparaiso 10

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Connor Jostes passed for two touchdowns
and ran for another to lead Drake to its fifth straight victory,
37-10 over Valparaiso on Saturday.

Jason Jones scored on a 25-yard reverse and Michael Bialas added
a 28-yard touchdown run for Drake (6-2, 3-0 Pioneer Football
League). The Bulldogs built a 37-0 lead and kept Valparaiso (3-6,
0-3) scoreless until midway through the fourth quarter.

Eric Papp intercepted two passes to lead the Drake defense, one
setting up a field goal and the other leading to a touchdown.

Drake is assured of its first winning season since 2000 and
could clinch the PFL's North Division championship by winning at
Dayton next Saturday. Valparaiso has lost four straight.

Jostes finished 12 of 16 for 128 yards, including touchdown
passes of 6 and 2 yards to Daniel Marx. His 18-yard touchdown run
early in the second quarter gave Drake a 23-0 lead and his second
TD pass to Marx capped a seven-play, 90-yard drive that made it
30-0 just before halftime.

Valparaiso, held to 190 yards, averted a shutout when Joe
Milazzo ran 5 yards for a touchdown with 8:20 left. Andrew McCawley
added a 47-yard field goal 3 minutes later.
