ELON, N.C. (AP) -- Scott Beckler kicked a 25-yard field goal and
Jerome Felton added a touchdown to lift Furman to a 10-0 shutout
win over Elon on Saturday night.
The Paladins (6-2, 3-1 Southern Conference) scored all 10 of
their points in the second quarter. Beckler's FG came early in the
period, followed by Felton's 3-yard TD pass from Ingle Martin. The
scoring drive was the result of a 70-yard drive that started with
an interception at 8:41.
Beckler attempted to take a first quarter lead over the Phoenix
(2-5, 1-3) with a 36-yard field goal try at 3:50 in the period.
Furman had 40 rushing attempts for 127 net yards, while Elon
The Phoenix had 12 turnovers in the 2 hour and 58 minute game.
