MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) -- Tyler Cvitkovic threw two touchdown passes
as Morehead State beat Jacksonville 28-14 on Saturday.
The Eagles (4-4, 2-1 Pioneer League) took a 19-14 lead when
Cvitkovic hit Chris Stockleman for a 75-yard touchdown pass with
10:18 left in the third quarter. Cvitkovic connected with Rick
Cornelius for a 2-point conversion to make it 21-14.
Morehead State held Jacksonville (2-5, 2-1) to just 37 yards
rushing, and forced six punts.
Jacksonville took an early 7-6 lead on a Mike Sturgill 31-yard
touchdown pass to Nathan Conner with 6:10 left in the first.
Sturgill threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns.
Morehead State clinched its third straight Pioneer League
Football South Division title with the win.
"With all the injuries that we have had this season, this
(division title) is a credit to our players and my assistant
coaches," said Morehead coach Matt Ballard.
