ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) -- Ryan Kuhn threw for 208 yards and two
touchdowns and Cornell held on to beat Princeton 21-20 on Saturday.
Brian Romney had five catches for 114 yards and two TDs for
Cornell (2-5, 2-2). Chad Nice added four catches for 142 yards and
Matt Verbit completed 19 of 39 passes for 260 yards and one TD
to lead the Tigers (4-3, 2-2).
Romney's 54-yard TD catch from Kuhn opened the scoring with 8:52
left in the first quarter.
Princeton answered with four-play drive capped by Bill Foran's
80-yard touchdown reception.
Romney got his second TD on a 24-yard pass from Kuhn to open the
second half's scoring. Nice's 79-yard TD catch from D.J. Busch gave
Cornell a 21-7 lead with 3:32 left in the third quarter.
Jon Veach scored on a 3-yard run on Princeton's next possession
and the Tigers pulled within one on Greg Field's 6-yard TD rush
with 6:48 left in the game.
But Matt Pollock blocked the extra point attempt to preserve the
victory for the Big Red.
