LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Sam Gado ran for 150 yards and three
touchdowns and Dre Barnes ran for 211 yards and a score Saturday as
Liberty beat Charleston Southern 34-6.
The Flames (3-5, 2-1 Big South) outgained the Buccaneers 375-66
on the ground, getting scoring runs of 21, 1 and 2 yards from Gado
and one of 3 yards from Barnes.
The Buccaneers (4-3, 1-1) got their only points on a 6-yard pass
from Collin Drafts to Eddie Gadson with 9:523 remaining. By then,
the Flames were already in command of the sloppy game, 27-0,
despite being whistled for 16 penalties for 163 yards.
Charleston Southern had nine penalties for 53 yards.
Brock Farrel was 11-for-17 for 110 yards and a 9-yard touchdown
pass to Lauren Williams for the Flames, who outgained the visitors
Drafts completed 25 of 45 passes for 243 yards with one
Barnes carried 30 times with a long of 32 yards. Gado had a
23-yard run in 20 carries.
