HAMMOND, La. (AP) -- Donald Carrie threw for 283 yards and two
scores, and Alcorn State scored 15-straight points in the fourth
quarter to take a 33-27 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on
Southeastern (5-3) led 20-17 as the fourth quarter began. But
Carrie -- who was 19-of-33 with no interceptions -- found Johnny
Washington with a 7-yard touchdown pass to cap a 10-play, 63-yard
Michael Shepherd's 2-yard TD run and David McConnell's 37-yard
field goal gave Alcorn (5-3) a 33-20 lead before Martin Hankins hit
Josh Taylor with an 11-yard touchdown pass for the Lions with 17
seconds to go.
Southeastern tried an on-sides kick, but Alcorn recovered to
seal the victory.
Hankins passed for 374 yards and three touchdowns but also was
intercepted three times. His two other touchdown passes went for 20
yards to Jeffrey Howard and for 29 yards to Felton Huggins. Hankins
also scored on a 1-yard run.
