Austin Peay 20, Davidson 17

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Austin Peay beat Davidson 20-17 on field goals in overtime, behind the leg of a kicker who had yet to hit a field goal this season.

Bradley Wilson had missed his two other field goal tries this season, but hit field goals in the first and second overtime to win the game for Austin Peay.

Chris Fletcher led Austin Peay (2-8, 1-2 Pioneer) on the ground, running 37 times for 155 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter.

Austin Peay's defense set up the game winner when Teddy Carruthers blocked Davidson's 47-yard field goal attempt. Carruthers had a 45 yard interception return for a touchdown earlier in the game.

Charlie Forte had 17 tackles for Austin Peay, including two sacks.

Davidson (2-6, 1-2), which chewed up 221 yards on the ground, was led by John Leverett and his 179 yards on 31 tries. He scored on runs of 8 yards in the second quarter and 32 yards in the fourth quarter to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Both teams knocked in field goals in the first overtime, before Wilson's game winner.
