HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) -- Chris Brown passed for a career-high 318 yards and two touchdowns to lead Colgate to a 22-19 win over Lafayette on Saturday.

The Raiders, trailing 19-14 with 7:51 to play, drove 71 yards capped by Jamaal Branch's four-yard touchdown run off left tackle. Branch carried 25 times for 85 yards.

Lafayette had a chance to tie five minutes later, but Rick Ziska's 26-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Jeff Galletly.

It was the 17th straight home win for Colgate (6-3, 3-1) and the first Patriot League loss for Lafayette (6-3, 3-1) this season.

The Leopards took a 7-0 lead on their first possession on Joe McCourt's four-yard run. Colgate tied the score on a 21-yard pass from Brown to tight end Tyrone Gould in the first quarter.

Brown hit DeWayne Long with a nine-yard scoring pass to end a 10-play drive late in the second quarter. Ziska kicked a 41-yard field goal on the final play of the half, leaving Colgate ahead 14-10.

Ziska kicked a 24-yard field goal in the third quarter, and Lafayette took a 19-14 lead in the fourth on McCourt's two-yard run ending a 10-play drive. A two-point conversion pass attempt failed.

Colgate's Luke Graham had six catches for 120 yards, while Mike Chrystie grabbed five passes for 111 yards.

Lafayette's Brad Maurer completed 11-of-19 passes for 123 yards, and ran 17 times for 68 more.
