Brown 33, Columbia 21

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Mark Hartigan rushed for 179 yards and four touchdowns to lead Brown to a 33-21 win over Columbia on Saturday in the final regular season game for both teams.

Steve Morgan booted a pair of field goals for the Bears (6-4, 3-4 Ivy), and Hartigan recorded his 17th score of the season to become Brown's all-time single season rushing touchdown leader.

The Lions (1-9, 1-6) were led by quarterback Jeff Otis, who completed 28 of 46 passes for 310 yards.

Columbia took an early 7-3 lead on a 2-yard touchdown run by Rashad Biggers, but Hartigan reclaimed the lead for Brown with a 1-yard scoring run late in the first quarter to cap an eight-play, 60-yard drive.

Hartigan, who carried the ball 39 times, scored his second touchdown of the game late in the third quarter to put Brown ahead 20-7.

Columbia closed the gap to 20-14 in the final quarter when Biggers ran from the 1-yard line.

On the ensuing Brown drive, Hartigan scored again from 1 yard out and then scored again in the game's final moments on a 10-yard run.

Columbia's final touchdown came on Otis' 3-yard scoring pass to Nic DeGasperis with 3:21 left in the game.
