PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Joe DiGiacomo threw for 201 yards and
three touchdowns, including a 5-yarder to David Turner late in the
third quarter, to give Brown a 31-28 win over Princeton on
Brown's Nick Hartigan ran for 245 yards and scored his school
record 40th career touchdown on a 74-yard run in the first quarter.
The previous record of 39 was set by Michael Malan from 1999 to
2001. Hartigan's 245 yards was the second-best single-game
performance in school history.
Princeton (3-2, 1-1 Ivy) trailed 24-7 early in the second
quarter, but scored 21 unanswered points for a 28-24 lead midway
through the third quarter.
DiGiacomo's 36-yard touchdown pass to Lonnie Hill with 12:45 to
play in the first half gave the Bears (4-1, 1-1) a 24-7 lead.
Jeff Terrell started the Tigers' comeback with a 2-yard pass to
Jon Dekker at 9:36 of the third quarter. Ron Toresco scored on a
2-yard run, then Terrell scored on a 1-yard run at 8:22 of the
third to give Princeton the lead.
Brown's game-winning touchdown capped a nine-play, 81-yard
drive. DiGiacomo completed 15-of-27 passes.
Terrell scored Princeton's first touchdown in the first quarter
when he recovered his own fumble in the end zone.
