MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -- Lucius Seymour returned an interception 43
yards for a tie-breaking score as Eastern Illinois beat Murray
State 35-28 on Saturday.
It was the second of two turnovers that Eastern Illinois
converted into touchdowns in the third quarter.
Seymour's return of a pass by quarterback Ken Topps with 6:26
left in the third quarter put Eastern Illinois up for good. Vincent
Webb had an 83-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and finished
with 164 yards for the Panthers (5-2, 4-0 Ohio Valley Conference).
Topps rushed for 131 yards and threw for two touchdowns for the
Racers (1-6, 0-4 OVC), who led 28-21 with 9:45 left in the third
quarter after Nick Turner returned a punt 65 yards for a score.
Tristan Burge recovered a Murray State fumble on the goal line
with 7:28 left in the third to even the score at 28-28. It was
Burge's second fumble recovery that he ran in for a touchdown. The
first was a 68-yard return in the first quarter.
Murray State ran up 433 yards of offense, but committed six
