With its second straight win since a two-game slide, Georgia
Tech (6-2, 4-2 ACC Coastal) qualified for its ninth straight
bowl game. The school was one of just eight teams in the
country to play in a bowl game each of the last eight seasons.
Ball, who completed 12-of-27 passes for 200 yards, capped the
Yellow Jackets' opening drive with a one-yard TD run, giving
Georgia Tech the lead for good.
The MVP of the 2004 Champs Sports Bowl finished a 72-yard drive
early in the second quarter with an eight-yard TD pass to James
Johnson and opened the second half with a three-yard strike to
Calvin Johnson to make it 24-3.
P.J. Daniels ran 18 times for 117 yards and Travis Bell hit
three field goals longer than 40 yards as the Yellow Jackets
topped the Demon Deacons for the eighth time in the last 10
Cory Randolph was 19-of-33 for 160 yards and one touchdown with
an interception for Wake Forest (4-6, 3-4 ACC Atlantic). Senior
Chris Barclay ran 15 times for just 24 yards but managed to
surpass the 1,000-yard mark for the third straight season.
