GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Daric Carter ran for 68 yards and two touchdowns to lead Furman to a 34-21 win over Wofford on Saturday.

The Paladins (8-2, 4-2 Southern Conference) have won six straight at home and are vying for a Division I-AA playoff bid. Furman's defense held Wofford (5-5, 3-4) scoreless in the first half, and the Paladins led 21-0 at halftime.

Furman's Ingle Martin completed 16-of-24 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown. Martin also rushed for 26 yards and had a 55-yard punt. Brandon Mays had nine carries for 91 yards for the Paladins.

The Terriers scored in the third quarter on Adrian Young's 1-yard run. He finished with 16 carries for 67 yards.

Wofford's Josh Collier completed 8-of-18 passes for 69 yards. He also rushed 13 times for 101 yards and one touchdown.

The Terriers were hoping to play spoiler against Furman. Wofford lost a playoff berth in 2002 when the Paladins scored with 29 seconds left to go to win 23-21.

Furman has won five of the last six games against Wofford.

The Paladins still have an outside shot at sharing the league title with Appalachian State. They need a win over Chattanooga next week and the Mountaineers to lose to Elon. Appalachian State beat Western Carolina 35-7 on Saturday.
