Marist 30, Stony Brook 28

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) -- Tyler Sears ran for 191 yards and three touchdowns to give Marist to a 54-41 victory over Phoenix, advancing the Spartans to the Class 3A state championship game.

Second-ranked Marist (12-0) will play the winner of Saturday night's game between Scappoose and Sherwood in the state championship game next Saturday at Autzen Stadium in Eugene.

Kyle Haskin threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns for Marist, the 2003 Class 3A state champion.

The fifth-ranked Pirates (10-2) were making their first semifinal appearance since they won the state title in 1985.

Matt Hagert threw for 271 yards and a score, and Marty Joseph had seven catches for 114 yards.

After Marist built a 54-27 lead midway through the fourth quarter, Hagert had 1-yard and 2-yard touchdown runs for Phoenix, which could not overcome the deficit.

The game was played at Roseburg High School.
