LORMAN, Miss. (AP) -- Henry Tolbert caught three touchdown passes
and ran for another to lead Grambling State to a 46-19 rout of
Alcorn State on Saturday.
Tolbert had a 5-yard touchdown run as Grambling jumped out to a
25-0 lead in the first quarter, then later had scoring catches of
6, 12 and 35 yards from Southwestern Athletic Conference offensive
player of the year Bruce Eugene.
Tolbert finished with seven catches for 113 yards.
Eugene finished 16 of 37 passing for 242 yards and four
touchdown passes. In addition to his three TD passes to Tolbert,
Eugene had an 18-yard scoring pass to George Piggott.
Kicker Tim Manuel also had a 45-yard touchdown pass to Brandon
Grambling (10-1, 9-0 SWAC) won the West and will play East
champion Alabama A&M on Dec. 10 in the conference championship
