DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Brandon Godsey scored on a 6-yard run with just 1:37 remaining to give Dayton a 21-14 win over Robert Morris on Saturday in the season opener for both teams.

Dayton trailed 14-0 at halftime, but Carlton McFadgen scored on an 11-yard run with 1:54 left in the third quarter to start the Flyers' rally. The short 23-yard scoring drive was set up when Dayton recovered a muffed punt on a ball that hit the Colonials' Mario Hines.

Dayton scored again in the fourth on Greg Wimberly's 1-yard run to tie the game with 8:50 left.

Robert Morris quarterback Erik Cwalinski completed 18 of 25 passes for 278 yards with two interceptions and two touchdowns. He hit Hines on a 7-yard scoring pass and Jarvis Powers on a 16-yard TD pass.

Dayton's Kevin Hoyng completed 13 of 22 passes for 162 yards and was sacked four times. Nick Ruhe caught five passes for 77 yards.
