VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) -- Sedale Threatt threw for 223 yards and two
touchdowns and Matt McGowan scored on a 15-yard run late in the
fourth quarter as Lehigh rallied to beat Villanova 31-28 on
Saturday night, spoiling the Wildcats' home opener.
Threatt was 18-of-29 and rushed 13 times for 77 yards for Lehigh
(1-1). Fran Trovato returned a punt 57 yards for a score and caught
an 18-yard TD pass from Threatt, who also found Marques Thompson
with an 18-yard scoring strike.
Jason Leo added a 30-yard field goal for the winners.
Junior Matt Dicken ran for touchdowns of 1 and 6 yards in the
first half as Villanova (0-2) carried a 21-14 lead into halftime.

In the second half, after Lehigh got scores from Trovato and
Leo, Villanova rallied again behind senior quarterback Marvin
Burroughs. He capped a late 80-yard drive with a 4-yard TD run to
give the Wildcats a 28-24 lead with just over 11 minutes left.
But McGowan put Lehigh ahead to stay when he scored with three
minutes left in the fourth quarter.
May DeQuese led the Villanova rushing attack with 85 yards on 15
carries, and Burroughs finished 9-for-20 for 95 yards.
