COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Jorvorskie Lane must like
standing in the end zone. He certainly was a frequent visitor.
Lane ran for 52 yards and a career-high four touchdowns as Texas
A&M routed Louisiana-Lafayette, 51-7.
It was the second consecutive victory for the Aggies (2-0), who
posted an easy 35-3 win last Saturday in their season opener
against the Citadel.
Lane reached the end zone twice in the opening quarter and added
a five-yard score in the second quarter as Texas A&M entered
the break with a comfortable 31-7 cushion.
Stephen McGee completed 20-of-27 attempts for 200 yards and a
touchdown while rushing for 42 yards on seven carries for the
Aggies, who improved to 5-1 all-time against the Ragin' Cajuns.
UL-Lafayette senior Jerry Babb struggled, completing just 1-of-8
attempts for 10 yards. Backup quarterback Michael Desormeaux
ran for 53 yards and a TD on 10 carries for the Ragin' Cajuns
(0-2), who managed just 10 first downs and 171 yards of total
offense.
