HAMPTON, Va. (AP) -- Alonzo Coleman ran for 172 yards and three
touchdowns to lead Hampton to a 46-7 win over Howard on Saturday.
Coleman scored on a 29-yard run in the second quarter, a 16-yard
run in the third and a 2-yard run in the fourth. The Pirates rushed
for 287 yards on 47 attempts.
Howard quarterbacks Floyd Haigler, Martin Decembert and William
Blanden combined to throw for 125 yards and one interception.
Hampton's Princton Shepherd finished 17-for-23 for 250 yards and
Marquay McDaniel caught seven passes for 104 yards and a
touchdown for Hampton.
