PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Joe DiGiacomo passed for 206 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as Brown beat Georgetown 34-21, as the Bears matched a school record with their ninth consecutive victory dating to last season.

Brown (1-0) countered with 34 unanswered points. The Bears tied the game at 7-7 on Brandon Markey's 3-yard run 1:28 into the second quarter.

DiGiacomo put Brown ahead for good when he threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Lonnie Hill, capping a 90-yard, 11-play drive.

DiGiacomo threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Colin Cloherty for a 20-7 lead just 33 seconds before halftime.

Jonathan May's interception on the first play of the third quarter set up Akin Oyalowo's 1-yard run.

Backup quarterback Matt Nuzzo scored his first varsity touchdown on a 27-yard run for a 34-7 lead.

Georgetown's Matt Bassuener threw a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, 9 yards to Sidney Baker and 4 yards to Mitchell. Bassuener finished 17 of 21 for 154 yards.
