RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Tim Hightower and Justin Forte each rushed
for over 100 yards in a half Saturday as Richmond beat VMI 58-7.
Hightower gained 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the first
half, which saw Richmond lead 44-0 at halftime. Forte gained 144
second-half yards and scored a touchdown.
The Spiders (2-0) outgained the Cadets 560 yards to 129. VMI was
held to minus one yards passing, the first time in the school's
history it finished with negative yards passing.
The Spiders also got a pair of touchdown receptions from John
Crone, a rushing touchdown by Josh Vaughan, a fumble recovery by
defensive back Derek Hatcher and a safety.
The Keydets (1-2) scored late in the third quarter on a 1-yard
run by quarterback Jonathan Wilson.
