Delaware 10, Hofstra 6

NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Joe Flacco threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Robbie Agnone to lead Delaware to a 10-6 win against Hofstra on Saturday.

The Blue Hens (3-3) also got a 22-yard field goal from Zach Hobby with 24 seconds left before halftime to take its 10-6 lead into intermission.

The only points for the Pride (2-4) came on a pair of Rob Zarrilli field goals, 22 and 34 yards. Zarilli, who has hit 13-of-15 field goal attempts this season, had a 42-yard field goal attempt blocked in the third quarter.

The Blue Hen defense also stopped Hofstra quarterback Anton Clarkson for no gain on a fourth-and-one play at the Delaware 27 with 3:24 left in the game.

The Hens' best scoring opportunity in the second half was stopped at the Hofstra 1-yard line when the Pride's Gian Villante recovered a fumble with 8:35 left in the game.

Flacco completed 20-of-29 passes for 168 yards with Ben Patrick having eight receptions for 72 yards. Kervin Michaud added 58 yards on 15 carries as Delaware finished with 267 total yards.

With the win, the Hens avoided losing three straight home games for the first time since 1983.

Clarkson completed 16-of-26 passes for 182 yards. Charles Sullivan had six catches for 78 yards, and Kareem Huggins ran for 58 yards on 10 carries.
