NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) -- Chris Lofrese kicked a career-high
four field goals Saturday in Iona's 28-0 blanking of LaSalle.
Lofrese hit from 21, 45, 31 and 25 yards, with the 45-yarder
being a career long for the senior who was the all-Metro Atlantic
Conference kicker last season.
The Gaels (2-5, 1-0), had a 22-0 advantage at halftime after
quarterback Dustin Troick scored on a 1-yard run at 10:31 of the
second quarter and Sean Madden raced 35 yards with an intercepted
pass at 4:29 to go with Lofrese's 21- and 45-yard kicks.
Lofrese's 31-yard boot at 13:02 of the third and 25-yarder at
9:46 of the fourth accounted for the second-half scoring against
the Explorers (2-5, 0-2).
Iona compiled 332 yards of offense and held LaSalle to 188.
