It was the second straight overtime loss for Penn (4-3, 2-2 Ivy League), which had first possession in the extra period but failed to score.

Morgan kicked a 36-yard field goal on the first drive, and then DiGiacomo took Brown 93 yards on a drive that was capped by a 9-yard scoring run by Akin Oyalowo.

Robert Irvin passed for 207 yards and a touchdown for the Quakers, who were held to 12 yards rushing in the first half.

Penn got on the board in the second quarter when Irvin threw a 6-yard TD pass to Billy May. Free safety Scott Williams returned a fumble 18 yards for another score to give Penn a 13-10 lead with 4 minutes left in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, Irvin connected with Matt Reinert for a 14-yard pass on a key fourth-and-8 play that set up a 10-yard scoring run by Joe Sandberg.

Brown scored its second touchdown on a 44-yard pass from DiGiacomo to Paul Raymond to make it a three-point game with 12 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

On the ensuing kickoff, Chris Wynn had the fourth-longest kick return in Penn history as he ran 98 yards for a TD, giving Penn a 10-point lead.

After a 25-yard field goal by Morgan, the Bears tied the game 27-all on an 11-yard pass by DiGiacomo to Lonnie Hill with 3:52 remaining.
