COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Taurean Rhetta hauled in a 17-yard touchdown pass from Matt Hardin in overtime to propel Jacksonville State to a 17-10 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday at Tucker Stadium.

Hardin completed 13 of 22 passes for 164 yards for the Gamecocks (4-4, 4-2), who captured the first overtime win in the history of the program.

Tennessee Tech (2-6, 2-3 OVC) took a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter on a 36-yard field goal by Nate Johnson. Jacksonville State tied the game just before halftime on a Gavin Hallford 29-yard kick.

Clay Green, who rushed for 27 times for 70 yards, scored on a 1-yard run late in the third quarter for the Gamecocks to snap the 3-3 tie.

Tennessee Tech battled back to even the contest at 10 with 4:31 remaining. Derek White dove into the end zone on a 6-yard run, polishing off a six-play, 56-yard drive for the Golden Eagles.

Hallford, who hasn't hit a field goal longer than 37 yards all season, missed a 43-yard attempt as time expired to send the game to overtime.

Tennessee Tech's Lee Sweeney threw for 117 yards, completing 11 of 27 passes with an interception.

Rhetta caught five passes for 81 yards for Jacksonville State.
