LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Receiver Maurice Purify threw a touchdown pass and caught another and Nebraska took sole possession of first place in the Big 12 North with a 34-20 victory over Missouri on Saturday.

The Cornhuskers (7-3, 4-2) beat Missouri for the 15th straight time in Lincoln and can clinch a berth in the conference championship with a win over either Texas A&M next weekend or Colorado on Nov. 24.

Nebraska, which lost to Oklahoma State last week after squandering a 16-0 lead, had some anxious moments against the Tigers (7-3, 3-3) after scoring on five of seven possessions to go up 27-6.

As was the case in the Tigers' two previous losses, they couldn't overcome turnovers. Nebraska defensive end Adam Carriker had an interception and set up one for Bo Ruud by tipping a Chase Daniel pass at the line of scrimmage. The Huskers converted both into second-quarter touchdowns.

In their losses, the Tigers have turned over the ball 10 times, with seven converted into 41 points.

Brandon Jackson led Nebraska with 111 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries. He also caught three screen passes for 61 yards.

Zac Taylor threw two touchdown passes to run his season total to 20, matching the 30-year-old school record set by Vince Ferragamo. Taylor was 13-of-21 for 208 yards.

Daniel was 20-for-38 and 244 yards to total 2,531 yards in 10 games and break the single-season yardage record set by Jeff Handy in 1992.

Daniel hit some big passes while leading Missouri on an 18-play, 80-yard drive to pull the Tigers within two touchdowns with 8:10 left. The Tigers converted three fourth downs on their way to Daniel's 19-yard TD pass to Chase Coffman.

The Tigers threatened again, moving to the Huskers 28 after Nebraska went three and out on its next series. Daniel threw to Jared Perry to the 25 on a scramble, but a video review showed that Daniel's knee touched the ground before he passed. The Tigers couldn't convert a fourth-and-23.

The Huskers ran back-to-back trick plays to score their first touchdown. Terrence Nunn picked up 18 yards on an end-around before Purify took a reverse handoff and lofted a perfect strike to Nunn for a 28-yard touchdown.

It was 17-0 a couple minutes later after Carriker's interception. William Franklin was about to catch a pass at the line when Ola Dagunduro rammed him, causing the ball to pop up. Carriker was there to pull it in at the Missouri 22. Six plays later Taylor threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Purify.

The Huskers went up 24-3 after Bo Ruud intercepted a pass tipped by Carriker and ran it back 40 yards. Taylor threw a 17-yard pass to Hunter Teafatiller on the next play.
