LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Jeff Ballard threw for 195 yards and ran for 84 to lead TCU over UNLV 25-10 Saturday.

Ballard was 15-for-28 with a touchdown pass to Michael DePriest from 34 yards with 5:02 left in the third quarter that gave the Horned Frogs 19-3.

Ballard did not throw an interception and carried the ball 14 times.

Aaron Brown rushed for 60 yards with a touchdown for TCU (6-2, 2-2 Mountain West), scoring from 11 yards out with 10:35 left in the first quarter to give the Horned Frogs a 6-0 lead. He also caught three passes for 52 yards. Lonta Hobbs rushed for 60 yards on 15 carries for the winners.

TCU kicker Peter LoCoco made all four of his attempted field goals, including one from 42 yards and another from 40.

The Horned Frogs are 3-1 in a stretch of four of five road games that ends at conference rival New Mexico next Saturday.

UNLV (1-8, 0-5) has lost eight straight after opening the season with a win.

David Peeples led the Rebels with 68 yards rushing and scored a 5-yard touchdown with 9:58 left in the game.

Quarterback Rocky Hinds threw for 128 yards on 10-for-27 passing with one interception.

Trailing 25-10 with 8:12 left in the game, Rebels defensive lineman Starr Fuimaono recovered a TCU fumble at the Horned Frogs 3-yard line. But two plays later TCU's Marvin White intercepted a Hinds pass, nullifying any UNLV hopes.

UNLV's first score came on a 52-yard field goal from Sergio Aguayo with 7:45 left in the second quarter, cutting it to 12-3. The kick tied Aguayo's career long. He missed his other two attempts.
