AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Luke Getsy threw for four touchdowns and 272 yards to help Akron beat Buffalo 31-16 on Thursday.
Adam Tanalski capped a 67 yard drive for the Bulls with a 25-yard field goal to put Buffalo (2-8, 1-6) on the scoreboard in the first quarter. Steven King ran for a 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter and a 2-yard score in the fourth to finish Buffalo's scoring.
Getsy threw two of his touchdown passes to David Harvey, the first one with 12:16 left in the second quarter to stretch Akron's lead to 21-3.
Harvey also caught a 77-yard touchdown pass, Akron's longest pass play of the night, in the fourth quarter. Harvey finished with six catches for 143 yards.
Jon McClain hit a 17-yard field goal for the Zips, and Dennis Kennedy ran for 103 yards on 27 carries.
Buffalo's Tony Paoli completed 15 of 24 passes for 150 yards and no interceptions.
Getsy went 13 of 20 passing. He was sacked once and didn't throw an interception.
