LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Brock Smith threw for 224 yards and two long touchdowns and Liberty ended Charleston Southern's 14-game winning streak, 34-20, on Saturday.
Smith, who was 12-for-17, connected with Brandon Turner midway through the first quarter for a 68-yard score that put Liberty (5-5, 1-2 Big South) ahead 14-0. His 45-yard pass to Wynton Jackson made it 34-7 early in the fourth quarter.
The Buccaneers (9-1, 2-1) scored on a 63-yard punt return by C.J. Hirschman in the second quarter, but they didn't score again until the outcome was determined.
Zach Terrell ran for two TDs and Turner caught five passes for 110 yards.
Collin Drafts was 15-for-20 for 116 yards and one interception for Charleston Southern. Maurice Price caught 13 of those passes for 61 yards.
