VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) -- John Popper rushed for 139 yards and Josh Lynn and Kevin Folk scored on short touchdown runs to lead Valparaiso to a 20-7 victory over Aurora on Saturday.
The Crusaders (3-8) limited the Division III Spartans (5-5) to 79 yards offense, including just 11 yards on the ground.
Valparaiso took a 17-0 lead after three quarters before Aurora got its only touchdown on a 5-yard pass from Mathew McGary to Cory Cowan, a score set up by one of three pass interceptions by Aurora off Ryan Doerffler.
McGary was 10-of-33 for 68 yards and one interception.
Doerffler was 10-of-29 for 135 yards. Six of his passes for 104 yards were caught by Steve Ogden, but the only touchdowns for the Crusaders were on runs of 2 yards by Lynn late in the second quarter and 1 yard by Folk in the third period.
Mike Krieg kicked two field goals for Valparaiso, a 37-yarder late in the first quarter and a 28-yarder midway through the final period.
