BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Mike Kokal threw for 130 yards and a touchdown to lead Miami of Ohio to a 9-7 victory over Bowling Green on Wednesday night.

Bowling Green's Sean Ellis missed a 25-yard field goal wide left with 35 seconds remaining that would have given the Falcons (4-7, 3-4 Mid-American Conference) a 10-9 lead.

Anthony Turner ran for a 31-yard touchdown that put Bowling Green ahead 7-0 in the second quarter.

Miami (2-9, 2-5) got on the board with a 27-yard field goal from Trevor Cook in the third. Dustin Woods caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Kokal to put the RedHawks ahead with 11:24 left.

After Ellis' field goal sailed wide, Miami ran a single play and the clock expired.

Turner ran for 91 yards and completed 13 of 24 passes for 131 yards for the Falcons. He was sacked twice.

Miami's Ryne Robinson caught nine passes for 86 yards. Kokal finished 12-of-24 for 130 yards. He was sacked three times and fumbled once.
