WASHINGTON (AP) -- Larry Duncan's 18-yard touchdown reception
from quarterback Brian Johnson gave Howard University a 20-17
victory over Delaware State on Saturday, ending the Hornets'
six-game winning streak.
Johnson ran for 120 yards and threw for 127 to lead the Bison
(5-6, 4-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who rallied from a 17-7
third-quarter deficit. Johnson completed 6 of 14 passes for two
touchdowns with two interceptions.
Arlandus Hood's 25-yard touchdown reception from Johnson pulled
Howard to 17-14 late in the third quarter before Duncan's fourth
quarter score put the Bison on top.
Emmanuel Marc's 29-yard touchdown run gave Delaware State (8-3,
6-2) a 17-7 lead with 9:58 remaining in the third quarter. Marc
finished with 165 yards on 21 carries.
Shaheer McBride's 36-yard touchdown reception from Kurt Elden
put Delaware State ahead 7-0 in the first quarter before Karlos
Whittaker capped Howard's 14-play, 90-yard drive with a 7-yard
touchdown run for a 7-7 tie.
Josh Brite, who missed field-goal attempts of 29, 42 and 33
yards, gave Delaware State a 10-7 lead on a 37-yard field goal in
the second quarter.
