MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- Larry Bostic ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns as Ball State defeated Kent State 30-6 Friday afternoon.

Nate Davis passed for 268 yards and a touchdown, and Darius Hill caught five passes for 116 yards for the Cardinals.

Julian Edelman passed for 181 yards and ran for 95 for Kent State. He was responsible for 276 yards, but the team gained just 265 total yards because of losses on running plays.

Bostic scored on runs of 4 and 7 yards in the second quarter as the Ball State outscored Kent State (6-6, 5-3 Mid-American) 21-0 in the quarter. Davis threw his only touchdown pass of the game to Terry Moss in the second quarter to help Ball State (5-7, 5-3) take a 24-0 lead at halftime.

Kent State scored just once, on a 9-yard pass from Edelman to Marcus Hill in the fourth quarter. The Golden Flashes were called for seven penalties for 82 yards.
