CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) -- John Randle ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns Thursday to lead Southern Illinois to a 59-14 win over Quincy.
Southern Illinois (1-0, Gateway) rolled up 480 yards of total offense, with 278 coming on the ground and 202 in the air.
Saluki quarterback Nick Hill completed 13-of-18 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Hill's top target was Alan Turner, who had four receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown. Jabril Lewis also caught a 12-yard pass in the in the first quarter.
Randle averaged 7.3 yards a carry on 18 touches. Naji Shinskia, Deji Karim and Larry Warner also scored rushing touchdowns for Southern Illinois.
Running back Ben Marron had four carries for 39 yards and a touchdown for Quincy (0-1). Craig Moore also scored for the Hawks on a one-yard run in the third quarter.
Southern Illinois scored on all eight trips to the Hawks' red zone. The Salukis led 31-7 at halftime.
