NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) -- Nick Rossetti passed for 222 yards and a touchdown and Iona defeated Delaware Valley 14-12 Saturday in the season opener.
Rossetti hit DeMarcus White with a 40-yard touchdown at 6:53 of the first quarter to give Iona a 7-0 lead. Rossetti was 14-of-22 and White had eight receptions for 96 yards as Iona (1-0) outgained Delaware Valley 382-177 yards.
Mike Isgro was 15-of-31 for 140 yards for Delaware Valley (0-1) and combined with Joel Foreman on two scoring passes of 21 and 5 yards. Delaware Valley missed both extra point attempts.
