WASHINGTON (AP) -- Maurice White ran for two touchdowns in the first half to lead Lafayette to a 28-7 victory over Georgetown on Saturday.
Lafayette (2-0, 1-0 Patriot League) held the Hoyas to 205 total yards of offense, including 74 rushing yards on 42 attempts. Georgetown (0-2, 0-1) committed two turnovers and turned the ball over on downs four times.
White finished with 88 yards on 13 carries, all of which came in the first half.
After Shaun Adair's 11-yard touchdown catch on the opening drive gave the Leopards a 7-0 lead, White scored on a 4-yard run around the left side to make it 14-0 with 3:31 left in the first quarter.
White also ran around the left side for a 21-yard touchdown with 5:01 to go in the first half.
Marcel Quarterman's 34-yard interception return for a touchdown made it 28-0 early in the fourth.
With Mychal Harrison's 8-yard touchdown run in the final minutes, Georgetown avoided being shut out for the first time since Sept. 24, 2004.
Lafayette quarterback Michael DiPaola was 9-of-17 passing for 152 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Kyle VanFleet led the Hoyas with 50 yards on 18 carries.
