LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Todd Reesing threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns, raising his three-game total to 831 yards and 10 scores, and Kansas remained unbeaten Saturday night with a 45-13 rout of winless Toledo.

Reesing, a sophomore who beat out an older and more experienced incumbent in preseason drills, is 49-for-87 in three games as a starter, all blowout wins, and has not thrown an interception. His shortest touchdown pass of the night was 26 yards. His longest covered 58 yards to two-way star Aqib Talib for a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The victory not only kept Kansas (3-0) unbeaten, it also avenged a demoralizing overtime loss to the Rockets last year that ultimately cost the Jayhawks a bowl berth. Toledo (0-3), ravaged on defense by injury, has given up 149 points in three games while Kansas has scored 159.

Marcus Henry, who had seven catches for 133 yards, caught a 42-yard scoring pass in the second quarter, breaking the tackle of cornerback Walter Atkins on the sideline and racing down the sideline.

After the Rockets scored on a trick play following a Kansas turnover to make it 17-7, Reesing scrambled away from pressure and connected with Dezmon Briscoe for a 26-yard scoring strike.

Talib, a first-team All-Big 12 cornerback, intercepted a Toledo pass in the third period and returned it 17 yards to set up Brandon McAnderson's 26-yard touchdown run for a 31-7 lead. Talib has one touchdown reception in each of his last four games, with the shortest covering 36 yards.

A few minutes after McAnderson's first TD, defensive end John Larson intercepted Aaron Opelt's pass and returned it 12 yards to the 1, and McAnderson scored his second on third-and-3.

Reesing, before retiring for the night, made it 45-7 late in the third period when he hit Dexton Fields with a 26-yard pass.

The Rockets scored on a 21-yard pass from Nick Moore to Opelt, who passed to the wide receiver and then faded back a couple of steps as Moore threw it right back to him.

Jake Sharp rushed for 127 yards on 13 carries for Kansas, while Reesing erased the school sophomore record for yards passing in a game that Adam Barmann set against Toledo in 2004 with 310.

DaJuane Collins scored on a 7-yard run for the Rockets with 5 seconds left.
