BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Tyler Sheehan threw for 351 yards and four touchdowns to lead Bowling Green to a 48-35 win over Temple on Saturday.

The two teams entered halftime tied at 21, but the Falcons (2-1, 1-2 Mid American Conference) scored 17 unanswered points in the third quarter to distance themselves from the Owls (0-4, 0-2).

Sheehan completed 30 of 47 passes with two interceptions and also ran for 38 yards on seven carries.

Bowling Green's defense broke the game open in the third quarter on two costly Temple turnovers. Kenny Lewis returned a fumble 35 yards, and Orlando Barrow recovered a fumble by Temple quarterback Adam DiMichele in the end zone to stretch the score to 35-12.

Sinisa Vrvilo's 41-yard field goal capped the Falcon's 17 point quarter.

Freddie Barnes caught nine passes, including 7-yard and 21-yard touchdown receptions, for 96 yards for Bowling Green.

DiMichele threw for four touchdowns and ran for another. He finished 27 for 41 passing for 299 yards but was sacked six times.
