BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) -- Sedale Threatt threw for three touchdowns as Lehigh ran away from VMI 37-6 on Saturday.
Threatt passed for 231 yards and threw a pair of touchdown passes to Troy Healion, a 13-yarder that opened the scoring in the first and a 30-yarder that put Lehigh (2-1) up 37-0 in the fourth.
Lehigh's Nick Johnson caught two touchdown passes, a 52-yarder from Threatt in the first quarter and a 66-yard touchdown pass from fellow receiver Pete Donchez on a trick play in the second. Donchez took a backward pass from Threatt and launched a pass downfield to the open Johnson for the score.
Kyle Hughes threw a a 16-yard touchdown pass to Rick Goodwin in the closing seconds of the fourth to get VMI (1-3) on the board. Lehigh held Hughes and the Keydets to just 83 yards passing and forced VMI to turn the ball over three times.
Kwesi Kankam scored on a 13-yard run and Jason Leo booted a 22-yard field goal in the second quarter as the Mountain Hawks steamed to a 31-0 halftime lead. Threatt was 10-for-12 for 160 yards and two scores in the first half.
Johnson finished with three catches for 140 yards and Kankam rushed for 66 yards on 18 carries for the Mountain Hawks.
Lehigh outgained VMI 447 yards to 261 yards for the game.
