CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) -- Johnny Gray grabbed a touchdown pass and ran for another as Northern Iowa posted a fourth-quarter rally to beat Youngstown St. 14-13 on Saturday.

The Panthers (8-0, 4-0 Gateway) trailed 13-0 entering the final quarter before Eric Sanders connected with Gray on a 29-yard pass. Gray followed up with an 18-yard run with 4:54 left to play to give Northern Iowa its first lead of the game.

The Panthers were ranked No. 1 in the Sports Network Football Championship Subdivision poll. Youngstown St. was ranked No. 20.

Derrick Bush caught a 28-yard pass from Tom Zetts to give Youngstown St. (5-4, 1-3) an early 7-0 lead. Brian Palmer kicked a 22-yard field goal to make it 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Palmer connected again on a 37-yard field goal to give the Penguins a 13-0 lead at the half.

After Northern Iowa took the lead, Youngstown took over on offense, starting on its own 13-yard line following a Panther punt with 1:36 remaining.

Zetts ran for six yards and completed a 12-yard pass to Ferlando Williams for a first down, but his next attempt was intercepted by Brannon Carter to put the game out of reach.
