Ark.-Pine Bluff 20, Texas Southern 10

HOUSTON (AP) -- Kenneth Esaw rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter, to lead Arkansas-Pine Bluff past winless Texas Southern 20-10 Saturday.

The Lions (4-7, 4-5 Southwestern Athletic) fell behind 10-0 in the first quarter, and the score was tied 10-10 when Esaw scored on a 4-yard run with 14:30 remaining in the game.

The Tigers fell to 0-10 despite finishing with more total yards and passing yards and fewer penalties yards. Texas Southern finishes the season next Saturday against Houston of the Football Bowl Subdivision, formerly Division I-A.

Texas Southern fumbled on the first play after Esaw's go-ahead touchdown, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff ate more than six minutes on a 12-play drive to John Heflin's 27-yard field goal that made it 20-10 with 5:06 remaining.

The Tigers' Cornelius Harmon threw for 206 yards and a first-quarter touchdown to Daniel Davis, who had four catches for 75 yards.

The Lions struck a perfect balance on offense, with 170 yards rushing and passing. Chris Wallace complete 12 of 25 passes, and Jason Jones had five catches for 72 yards.
