Willy's desperation throw capped a fourth quarter that had three lead changes in the final 2:27.

With 5 seconds left and down to its final play, Buffalo (2-1, 1-0 Mid-American Conference) sent three wideouts deep and flooded the end zone. Willy, who was 29-of-41 for 348 yards and three touchdowns, rolled to his right and threw. Roosevelt battled three defenders for the winner, cradling the ball on his leg as he hit the turf.

Willy also threw a 9-yard TD pass to Ernest Jackson and a 6-yarder to Brett Hamlin.

Adam DiMichele's second touchdown pass of the game to Bruce Francis gave the Owls (1-2, 0-1) a 28-24 lead with 38 seconds remaining. DiMichele was 24-of-33 for 286 yards, also threw a touchdown pass to DyOnne Crudup and ran for 58 yards.

A.J. Principe's 25-yard field goal gave Buffalo a 24-21 lead before DiMichele led Temple on what appeared to be a game-clinching, nine-play, 74-yard scoring drive.

Temple gave up 449 yards to the Bulls, but held MAC rushing leader James Starks to 20 yards on eight carries. Brandon Thermilus led Buffalo with 48 yards on 14 carries and scored on a 3-yard run.

The Owls led 21-14 at halftime.
