NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Patrick Campbell blocked a punt and recovered the ball in the end zone with 1:45 left in the fourth quarter to cap Iona's 20-point rally and give the Gaels a 30-26 victory over Pace on Saturday.
Warren Smith threw two touchdown passes for Iona (2-2) in the final 5:30. He tossed a 15-yard TD pass to Tim Mastriano with 5:26 left. They hooked up again for a 16-yarder at 3:52 to cut the lead to 26-23.
John Jones returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown for the Setters (3-1) to give Pace a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Ali Mourtado kicked a 31-yard field goal early in the foruth quarter to give Pace a 26-6 lead.
