DAVIS, Calif. (AP)Junior wide receiver Bakari Grant caught a 38-yard Hail Mary touchdown with no time left on the clock in the fourth quarter to give UC Davis a 34-30 victory over winless Northern Colorado.

Including the winning toss to Grant, quarterback Greg Denham threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns for the Aggies (2-4), who stopped a two-game losing streak. Two of those touchdown passes were to wide receiver Brandon Rice.

Sophomore running back Joe Trombetta also contributed to UC Davis' victory, running for 113 yards and scoring a touchdown.

Bryan Waggener threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns for the Northern Colorado Bears (0-4), who are riding a seven-game losing streak that dates back to Oct. 27, 2007. Waggener also ran for 65 yards, including a 66-yard run in the third quarter.

After Northern Colorado defensive back Quincy Wofford intercepted Denham on the Aggies? 23-yard line, the Bears kicked a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter to take a 17-14 halftime lead.

The Aggies were down 27-14 until Denham threw a 19-yard score to wide receiver Chris Carter in the third quarter, and another strike to Rice to put UC Davis up 28-27 in the fourth quarter.

Michael York kicked a 26-yard field goal with 1:18 left in the fourth quarter to give Northern Colorado a 30-28 margin.

The Aggies were set to kick a 50-yard field goal, but were called for an illegal procedure. With 8.9 seconds left, it took two tries to get the miracle throw to Grant. Grant finished with 86 receiving yards and one TD.
