LEXINGTON, Va. -- Justin Rogers returned two fumbles for touchdowns and Josh Vaughan had two scores to lead Richmond in a 56-16 win against Virginia Military Institute on Saturday.

Vaughan rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, and Tyler Kirchoff also scored twice with 24 rushing yards on four carries for the Spiders (4-2).

Richmond outgained the Keydets (2-3) 419-267 in the win.

Eric Ward connected with Tre Gray for a 29-yard touchdown score to open the scoring for Richmond, and Rogers gave the Spiders a14-0 lead with 6:53 to go in the first with his 41-yard fumble return for a TD.

VMI answered with Gabe Itoka's 12-yard run, but John Crone's 3-yard rushing score the first with Richmond in front 21-7.

After a Keydets field goal, Vaughan's 4-yard touchdown run closed the first half with Richmond ahead 28-10.

The Spiders would score 28-unasnswered points in the second half, and 8 yards by Kirchoff to seal the scoring for Richmond with a 56-10 lead with 10:06 to go in the fourth. Vaughan He scored on a 2-yard run in the third.
